BIG JOY: THE ADVENTURES OF JAMES BROUGHTON
Big Joy is an extraordinary and successful documentary film directed and produced by the tireless dynamic duo Eric Slade and Stephen Silha (whose hearts and near and dear to the Dance). The film is ostensibly about the life and ribald times of experimental filmmaker and beat poet James Broughton — colorful, mold-breaking, and brazen non-spokesperson for the 196os San Francisco counterculture. In truth the film is disguised as an inspiring biopic that dares us to, in James’ words, Follow Your Own Weird. Currently on a wildly successful film festival circuit, winning awards hand over fist, now on DVD and On Demand viewing!
