Words of Encouragement
from Dancers & Elders
We asked dancers and elders how they were taking care of themselves, their families, and their dance community kin as year two of the pandemic in the U.S. unfolds. What stories, challenges, and practical wisdom tips can they share? How can we as a family take care of ourselves and one another?
This new video project is intended to inspire, motivate, and stimulate us to look at things differently, to encourage us to reconnect with one another, mending the web of life once again.
“This is uplifting, this is leadership, this is mentoring. A clear path is calming in times of great shake-up. Re-calls me to step up, go deep! We are the ones we have been waiting for. We are the branches of the Tree.” — Deb Austin
Participants
Those who were able to step up on short notice include Aster Max, Clyde Hall, Dickie Antelope, Eileen & Charlie Patton, Hollis Melton, Jeffrey Blagg, Joan Henry, Lini Wilkins, Malama MacNeil, & Wolf Martinez.
